We provide Scriptures in the right way: combining evangelism and discipleship through our Project Philip and Church Planter Training program.
We call our strategy "Project Philip", after the story of Philip and the Ethiopian eunuch in Acts 8. Project Philip goes beyond providing Bibles and getting "decisions".
Through this project, people are invited by their friends to participate in a Bible study. By completing the study, they can receive a New Testament and then a whole Bible.
 |
| "Do you understand what you are reading?" Philip asked. "How can I," he said, "unless someone explains it to me?" So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him. (Acts 8:30b-31) |
Throughout the process, these people are studying God's Word side-by-side with local Christians. As they complete the lessons, their interest in the Bible increases, their relationship with the local church is strengthened, and many come to faith in Christ. The Bible they receive and the fellowship they join, feeds their new faith.
The Bible study and discipleship process is essential. Faith that is not grounded in God's Word and nurtured by fellowship with other Christians is like a seed sowed on rocky soil. It has no root, so it cannot last.
