eksan had a very unhappy childhood. His alcoholic and abusive father always beat his mother. When his father left the Buddhist family, Seksan had to support them at a very young age. He was forced to leave school and find work in the city. There he found a new family—a drug gang. Because of the criminal activity he often engaged in, the police put him in jail for a very long time. He was sentenced for most of his adult life.
"I figured I would die in jail so I tried to kill myself," Seksan recalls. "One day, a friend in prison gave me a book from Bible League called Who Cares When I Hurt? and said it would change my life. So I read it and read it….”
The verse from Proverbs 28:13 challenged Seksan. "In jail, I found the light of life! Oh, how God's Word touched me. When I read the words, 'He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.' I opened up my heart for Him. I believe He is so good, He forgave my sin and changed me.
This man, who was once considered useless by society, now only wants to love and serve other people. At 38 years of age, Seksan has a new nature—a nature that reflects His Lord. "He changed my life from rudeness to gentleness and now I long to serve others like Jesus did," Seksan says.”
